Our Visit to Exploris

This is the first poster in the exhibit. The 12 minute video is
a compilation of a two week trip down Haw River. The group
visited businesses including a turkey processing plant,
a hog farm and a pickle factory, Turtle Pond, Huske Locke
Dam and a woman called a "River Goddess," cleaning up
waterways, learning lessons about protecting our natural
resources, adding water to their sacred jug, and composing
a song along the way. The group was led by Louise Kessel,
founder of the Haw River Assembly and Festival.

Exploris has achieved its goal in that it is inclusive at a global level. The exhibits have examples from countries all around the world, including a piece of the Berlin Wall. Many of the displays are interactive, but overall geared toward children. It would've been great when the girls were younger. It's still great, because Amber is a part of it. A wonderful place for demonstrating multiculturalism, which has always been the Exploris goal. It's located across from Moore Square in downtown Raleigh.
