I, Jessica Kovach, am an artist from Wilmington, NC, and grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. I moved to Wilmington in 2001 where I began to study the arts. Studying drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramic works throughout high school, I continued to study these forms of art in my first 2 years of college. In 2006, I began photographing different venues and art exhibits for a local Wilmington art magazine called The Starving Artist, and also had my artwork displayed in local art shows at Studio 1515. I moved to Carrboro, NC early August 2009, and have been living here ever since. I started out painting realistic paintings and portraits, trying to capture the essence of the realism in photographs. In the past couple years I have been trying to find my own style without being too realistic, and have been trying to transform what I see in an abstract manor, to change it into something of my own and create my own style...
