Lincoln Center School Administration Offices

Lincoln Center is located at 750 S. Merritt Mill Road. Their phone number is 967-8211. While it currently houses the Carrboro-Chapel Hill School Administration Offices, there is a history to the building that may be unknown to newcomers. At one time, before desegregation in North Carolina, Lincoln Center was the black high school here in Carrboro and Chapel Hill. After that, it was used for 4th., 5th. and 6th. grades until 1970ish, when it was converted into the offices that exist there today.

In the lobby of the main building, former graduating classes are honored in the showcases that grace the area. Our neighbors graduated from high school there. We won't tell the year!

There is also a gym, where folks play basketball. The soccer field out in front of the building can also be booked for use. A pottery studio behind the building has been used for years by local artists.

At various times, artwork beautifies the walls of the halls here. Lots of parents have seen their kids' work hanging there from time to time.
