My work is a reflection of my environment—both the physical and the familial. The series of cast pieces are three-dimensional landscapes inspired by the natural beauty of North Carolina that has fascinated me since childhood. Organic forms, texture, and spatial relationships are utilized to represent the moments of a landscape remembered. This basket is a reflection of the importance of family. This piece symbolizes the universal traditions of gathering and the strength of numerous elements in unison.
