Spotted Dog Restaurant on Main St. in Carrboro

Spotted Dog Restaurant opened several years ago at 111 East Main Street, former home of Spring Garden. Owners Linda Bourne and Karen Mills have worked hard to provide a wide variety of tasty treats in their establishment, making it one of Carrboro's most popular restaurants. Homemade soups and salads, a variety of vegetarian and vegan dishes, and sandwiches ranging from juicy burgers to shrimp po' boys, offer a nice assortment of choices for the hungry diner.

Spotted Dog went through numerous cosmetic changes, adding more tables on each side of the bar which spans the length of the room, when Linda and Karen took the place over. The restaurant features art on the walls created by female artists, with a percentage of each piece that's sold going to the Women's Center.

For it years was known as "the longest bar in Carrboro," back in the days when it was Bullwinkle's, a rough and ready bar in the center of our universe. These days it has becoming a popular gathering place for folks in Carrboro to have a drink or something to eat. Smoking is allowed in this area of the restaurant. A new collection of pet pictures from their patrons can also be seen in the bar.
