Cultivating the Empty Garden
Multimedia installation comprised of six 25 tall fabric and aluminum roses. Below them are six cushions, each with a bronze hammer engraved with one of the Six Perfections of Buddhism. A soundscape of bells and spoken narratives describing personal stories of ordination are emanating from the meditation pillows. The walls are lined with dirt covered shelves, mirror fragments, and images of hands.
