14. Tryptic
Ceramic, steel, cement
William Moore

It seems almost like these three pieces came to this garden of their own accord. Created from the ribbons of clay beneath our feet and the rusting metal of our epoch, they reflect the textural impressions of the materials from which they were made and the textures that weave throughout nature, both woodland and desert. The rusted metal and cement make reference to structures found in the sea. As a group they become both totems and talismans to our visual relationship with the rich and varied natural world around us.
